Dr. Victoria Tatum
Dr. Tatum's love for dentistry started early. At just 12 years old, the day she got her braces put on, she knew exactly what she wanted to do with her life. A native South Carolinian born in Anderson, SC, she grew up between the Carolinas and Virginia, the daughter of Jack Tatum, a Clemson graduate who worked in the textile industry. Her path was clear from that moment on, and she never strayed from it.
Her academic journey is the kind that doesn't happen by accident. After being selected to attend The North Carolina School of Science and Math (NCSSM) as part of its very first graduating class, Dr. Tatum earned a full academic scholarship to Wofford College, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BS in Math and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Just two weeks after graduation, she began dental school at The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), where she went on to graduate second in her class and was honored with membership in Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU), the national dental honor society.
After dental school, Dr. Tatum completed a one-year general practice residency at Emory University, where she spent significant time working in the hospital alongside oral surgery residents. That experience helped her decide to dedicate her career to private practice as a general dentist, where she could build long-term relationships with her patients and offer comprehensive care under one roof. More than 30 years later, that decision continues to shape the warm, personalized experience patients have come to know at Tatum Dentistry.
Dr. Celeste Granger
Dr. Granger, affectionately known as "Dr. G" by her patients, found her calling for dentistry through service. Originally from a small town near Dayton, OH, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ohio State University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. It was her involvement with Give Kids a Smile during her time at Ohio State that first sparked her love for the field, and she went on to attend dental school at The Medical University of South Carolina immediately after graduation.
It was during dental school that Dr. Granger met Dr. Tatum and began shadowing at Tatum Dentistry. She quickly fell in love with the team, the patients, and the welcoming atmosphere of the practice, and knew it was exactly where she wanted to build her career. That same heart for service shows up outside the office too. Dr. Granger continues to volunteer at North Charleston Free Clinic, has served on a dental mission trip to Jamaica, and looks forward to continuing that work in the years ahead. She is a proud member of the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association, American Academy of General Dentistry, and American Academy of Women Dentists.
When she's not caring for patients, Dr. G can be found enjoying life in downtown Charleston with her friends and family, cheering on her Ohio State Buckeyes during college football season, exercising at MUSC, or soaking up the sun at the beach. She is currently accepting new patients and would love the chance to meet you.
